With a grateful heart and a thankful soul to the country that I consider my current second home, I’ve been wanting to share to everyone, particularly to those abroad, what fascinates me as a resident of UAE. And then I thought, one blog post will not be enough as the list would be as long as the mighty Sheikh Zayed Road! Hence, allow me to indulge and humbly begin by featuring a glimpse to Emirati tradition and culture, that was expressed creatively through impressive 600-metre mural artwork in Al Raha Beach, at the walls of Aldar Properties.
A quick read on the online news about the inauguration of this street arts in July 2016, I learned that it was done by the Dominican born, US-based artist known as, Evoca1 who was commissioned by Aldar Properties, and who painted the walls light brown background that’s undoubtedly the hue of the sand in the desert. The urban art depicts story scenes where a boy walks alongside a camel, a woman drinking Arabic coffee, an Emirati man seems to teach his son falconry, Emirati women weaving palm fronds, and another boy holding a lamp on his hand.
In humbly sharing these photos and in celebration of UAE’s 46th National Day, I would like to thank the great and brilliant leaders of this country for allowing expatriates to partake in the nation’s progress in our own little ways, and to greet all the citizens and fellow residents of UAE a very Happy National Day! Shukran, our beloved UAE!
