WHEN IN DUBAI : EXPERIENCE FLY HIGH DUBAI HELICOPTER TOUR!

Helicopter tour over Dubai has been on my bucket list since the day I moved to this ever future-forward cosmopolitan emirate. I have been admiring those incredibly stunning skyscrapers and iconic landmarks from a worm’s perspective and from a few vantage points however, never from a bird’s eye view while on aerial tour on board a real helicopter until I took the 15-minute flight tour via Fly High Dubai!

If you must know, I had experienced 2 helicopter tours before that hovered over Rio de Janeiro and Iguazu Falls in Brazil, and I also had experienced flying on board a 2-seater-gyrocopter over Dubai, but the Dubai Helicopter tour offered by Fly High Dubai exceeded my expectations! From the confirmation of reservation, to their advisory of little change on the flight schedule due to on going air show, to ground staff services and the flight itself – everything was impressive!

WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU BOOK A HELICOPTER TOUR WITH FLY HIGH DUBAI?

Service was remarkable, friendly and efficient. Upon receipt of confirmed reservation, I sensed professionalism from all the staff of Fly High Dubai who sent me emails and voucher that bears my name, my flight schedule, a map of their helipad near Atlantis The Palm, and their important advisory regarding the requirements to bring on the day of the flight, and those things that must be left at home. I was literally surprised that a transfer cab driver was waiting for all clients of Fly High Dubai at the drop off point and parking lot beside Atlantis The Palm. Even the transfer cab driver had a ready smile that greeted me upon arrival. That smile was also on the faces of the people at the reception, the ground staff,  and the pilot himself. I was quietly observing them while they treat all passengers as VIPs equally.

Safety comes first. Perhaps even those people with phobia of heights and flights would be at ease with Fly High Dubai. There’s no reason to panic or be anxious as the tour company prioritizes safety of passengers. Upon registration, I was given an ID tag that bears my flight group as per schedule, and a key to my locker where I secured my belongings. Then, together with a small group of random tourists, I was invited to join them in their safety briefing prior to the flight. A friendly and smiling (you know I like people who wear smiles), Filipina ground staff welcomed us and introduced the video that clearly explained what passengers must observe before, during and after the helicopter tour. The same female staff also called us one by one and weighed us in. The seat arrangement inside the chopper is determined by our individual weights.

Exciting and comfortable helicopter tour. After the staff called my name, I passed through a scanner for final safety measures, and another staff started attaching folded life vest around my waist. Excitement, not worries, ruled over me. I felt like a kid again or someone who will take his first ever chopper flight! That moment was priceless! Not long after, I found myself walking on a slightly bent position, avoiding the rotating blades, and towards my seat inside the helicopter. Everything passed by swiftly after I was buckled up to my window-seat by a ground staff, and a headset was placed over my head. All passengers were able to communicate with the pilot through the headsets that we’re wearing. And the pilot himself made us all at ease by having engaging and informative conversation while we hovered over Atlantis The Palm, The Palm Jumeirah, The World Islands, the Burj Al Arab, the Burj Khalifa, the sight of skyscrapers along Sheikh Zayed Road, the Business Bay and the Dubai Canal, and back to the helipad. The commentary and annotations of the pilot were just enough and not an information-overload; I agreed with him totally when he mentioned, “Take a look now at those landmarks as Dubai’s constantly changing as it progresses over the years.”

Funny how I reckon that fifteen minutes over Dubai felt like a dream came true!

Hi Thel! You should experience Fly High Dubai and I am not recommending them simply because they sponsored my flight but all words I mentioned above are all true! Highly recommended! And so glad that they have many passengers or tourists too!

  2. Incredibly beautiful. The view from above is difficult to beat.

      Thanks, Maria!
Although I think my photos do not do it justice. No photos could ever replace the experience of flying up there!
