Have you ever been to Tallinn, Estonia? Where did you stay? How was your experience? Neither I thought that my senses will be charmed, nor my entire being would be left in awe by this attractive country in the Baltic region of Northern Europe. Experiencing Tallinn was like sitting in front of a fireplace on a cold winter night. Enticing, magical, sublime!
It was my first time to visit Tallinn last December 2016, and although excitement mixed with a bit of anxiety and expectations soared high, my solo trip turned out to be pretty memorable! Apart from taking the massive ferry in the middle of an almost frozen Baltic Sea from Helsinki to Tallinn instead of taking a short-haul flight, staying at the Original Sokos Hotel Viru made everything extra-pleasant!
They’re consistently warm and friendly from check in to check out!
Picture this : I, as the only Filipino in the sea of white people checking in that winter afternoon at Original Sokos Hotel Viru, unexpectedly met a lovely Estonian hotel staff who had been to the most gorgeous islands of Boracay in my country, and had no words but all praises for the Philippines!
Checking in was far from being a breeze because the receptionist, Katrin and I spent almost half an hour exchanging fond stories and beautiful memories from my country, expressed warmly with smiling eyes and heartfelt sincerity! While I was telling her how enchantingly lovely Old Town Tallinn is, she replied back how she loved the Philippines more! Then she said a little token or gift from the hotel’s waiting for me in my room, I mean, in my Business Suite!
I silently thought that an imaginary red carpet was rolled out for me.
Thank you, Original Sokos Hotel Viru!

Say Hello to my Business Suite for 2 nights in Tallinn! Yey!
Two beds for a single guest was not a problem for me at all! Thank you, Viru Hotel!
The Business Suite offered an awesome view of Old Town Tallinn!
Needless to say, Original Sokos Hotel Viru is very proximal to Old Town Tallinn!
Restful sleep for 2 nights happened on this comfortable bed in Tallinn.
A chilled bottle of Italian white wine + assorted chocolates as a welcome surprise!
Who would not be thankful?
Missing this suite now!
Dining area for breakfast buffet’s simply elegant.
Warm, just as their coffee and tea.
