HELSINKI : MY HOTEL REVIEW OF SCANDIC PAASI

Location matters. It always does. It’s on top of my priorities whenever I’m scouting the worldwide web or relying from friends’ recommendations for possible travel-accommodation, regardless if it’s a hotel, a hostel, an apartment or a room for rent. And on my recent Nordic winter trip, one trusted name in hotel industry in the region stood out in Helsinki. It’s hands down for SCANDIC PAASI. Why? It’s strategically tucked a few steps away from Hakaniemi Tram Station, and a few minutes away from City Centre. When I arrived at Helsinki Airport from my 4-day-stay in Rovaniemi, I only took a train from the airport to reach the City Centre (another option besides riding the train or taxi cabs, is taking the buses that also ply from the terminal to the station near the hotel itself). Scandic Paasi Hotel is very accessible by foot when you roam around nearby establishments like restaurants, fast foods and tram stations and bus stops. It’s also a few minutes away by tram from Helsinki’s tourist spots like the Senate Square, Helsinki Cathedral, Market Square, Christmas Street or Aleksanterinkatu, and many others.

My other consideration in selecting accommodation are most likely the same as yours. Cleanliness, friendliness of staff, availability of fast and free wifi access, breakfast inclusion in the reasonably priced room rates, are the basic and most relevant things to reckon in deciding where to stay and what to book.

Just because my 3-day-2-night-stay in Scandic Paasi Hotel in Helsinki was sponsored by the hotel itself and by Bilberry.Ae, does not mean my review will be filled with hallelujahs and praises. I did try to be a fault-finder during my stay, however, I failed because the hotel’s seriously good; it exceeded my great expectations. And it’s never in my system to sugar-coat anything, particularly when it’s naturally sweet.

Here’s a photo-essay that hopefully, may appeal compelling to you to consider staying in Scandic Paasi Hotel, when you find time to visit Finland’s metropolis. Kindly share your thoughts on the comment section down below. Thanks! 🙂

For dinner, I tried their affiliated restaurant within the hotel compound itself for their traditional Meat Balls and Mashed Potatoes, that I paired with local white wine. It’s the best so far that I’ve tasted! Mashed potatoes the lightest and velvety while the meat balls were just divine (The dinner was not complimentary, fyi so #ipaidforthis, LOL!).

Kiitos, Scandic Paasi Hotel & Bilberry UAE! Thank you so much!

Whenever I prepare for a trip, I always say that I only need a clean place where I can sleep, take shower, brush my teeth and keep my backpack and luggage safely. However, it’s absolutely an added pleasure for me if my accommodation is a destination on its own.
