THE STATE OF BEING GRATEFUL

“The clinical definition of gratitude is the appreciation of what is valuable and meaningful to oneself; it is a general state of thankfulness and/or appreciation.” (sourced via NCBI)

I published this post NOT as a shameless self-promotion but to cultivate gratitude in more people.

    Awwwhhhh… :’D
Doc Gelo, thanks for being (and bearing) with us all this while. Words cannot describe how grateful we are to have you as our educator. Hands down. ^__^

Haha, you are so welcome. Thank you for being so grateful!
I am blessed to have met students like your entire group.
I take pride in being one of your lecturers.

I know with your passion in life, you’ll live your dreams soon!
Have fun in your 3-month-long break before heading to Ireland!
      All the best! :)

    dear docgelo,
you are so sweet! you deserved such gratitude as you are very dedicated and inspiring ! indeed ! deep in me, how i wish you will still be our lectur
er and teach us many things..
saying thank you may not be enough, but you will always be in our heart forever!
we love you so much. and dato chan as well :)
maraming salamat po! (is this correct?) haha

    • June 28, 2012 at 7:32 am

That’s correct, Hidaya! “Walang anuman!” (You’re welcome!).
You’re learning more Tagalog words from Dingdong Dantes and Piolo Pascual’s drama series on TV. hehehe! *just teasing* :)

Like you, I am also very grateful to Dato Dr. Chan; he’s humility makes him a greater man.
We all learned from him, I know. It’s a pleasure being with your group and Dato Chan for the Bridging Course-Ireland program. It has been so worthwhile.

With your faith and eagerness to learn, you’ll be a wonderful MD someday! :)

if more people were grateful [and nice], then we’d have a better world today.

congrats to your students docgelo…and to you. their success is also your success. :)

Gratitude is a rarity nowadays, Grace thus, I am so humbled when someone shows a little appreciation.
“Thank you, Sorry, Excuse me, I love you” are the phrases that Tina and I inculcate to Gabby.

About my students, they’ll do well for sure. Their positivity is infectious. :)

I always say my thanks to people who make life easier. Even if its a simple smile, and a wave, these are generous behaviors we need to teach our children, to always be grateful !

    • June 30, 2012 at 8:49 am

I agree. It’s every parent’s responsibility to teach our kids to be thankful always. A modest show of gratitude can make our day brighter.

the letters and cards from students are the best rewards in the teaching profession.

thanks! although some people don’t see me that way(read: you cannot please everyone and there’s no point in pleasing them), i’m cool with those who are nice with me too. :)

      happy weekend, lito!
