CON TE PATIRO (TIME TO SAY GOODBYE) by Andrea Boccelli - I first heard of this song at the Bellagio hotel in Las Vegas some 8 years ago. I was 23 years old then and knew nothing about the song but fell in love with its melody. The fountain in front of that luxurious hotel was dancing to this tune every 15 minutes. Words are not enough to describe how one can feel seeing and experiencing the moment. Every tune of the song was properly synchronized with the movement of the fountain. It was amazing.
This song’s title aptly labels my last blog for the year 2007…
CON TE PARTIRO…. TIME TO SAY GOODBYE to a number of things. Some people have a wish list or a New Year’s Resolutions list just before the start of a new year. Mine is a bit variation of sort. I’d lke to bid good bye to some things and welcome the new year with a fresh start ( I HOPE ! SO HELP ME GOD ! ).
Here’s my list. CON TE PARTIRO to :
[1] The past year that brought us blessings especially good health.
[2] Negative thoughts. It’s time to be OPTIMITISTIC inspite and despite of all things.
[3] Some old ways that won’t contribute to the my own personal improvement.
[4] Hassles, problems, worries. I plan to relax and take most things easy at a more controlled pace this new year and the days ahead.
[5] Being IMPATIENT. If there’s one VIRTUE that I would like to be in my system every minute till I breathe my last, it’s hands down to PATIENCE…( Is there any shop where I can buy one ? I’ll start to save for this if only PATIENCE can be tangible enough to be a commodity but unfortunately NOT ).
I think it’s HEALTHY for us to realize our ability to change for the better or to challenge ourselves to DO MORE. I always tell this statement to my nursing students that "it is never too late for us to improve for the better, and every minute of each day is an opportunity for that improvement."
And what a better way to start every New Year with goodbyes to negative things for us to welcome with sweet embrace the positive ones… May the good Lord continuously bless us this coming year and for us long as we shall live..
