We celebrated Fathers’ day extra special. Our mom made an effort for our family to be complete last Sunday, June 17. She texted me a day before to invite us to join them for a lunch out and a movie date and some ice cream after. So we met with the entire Santos family in Max’s Tiendesitas to ate lunch and exchange some chit chat. After the "fulfilling" lunch, we all went to Eastwood mall & cinemas in Libis. We first took the kids- my son Gabby, my nephew Joshua, and niece KC to an arcade for them to tinker on some video games and token-rides. Then we watched the movie Fantastic 4 : Rise of the Silver Surfer. That movie will be memorable for us because besides watching it completely with the whole family seated in an entire row of movie-seats which we seldom do, it was GABBY’s first movie date ever. We were thinking at first that Gabby might react unfavorably with watching movie in theater for 2 reasons; first, he cried incessantly while watching the entire Lion King musicale in Hong Kong disneyland last New year where the theater also had dim lights. Secondly, he is used in watching movies in DVDs or for him he calls them DDDs instead of DVDs and not in the big screen…But just like other things, there should always be a first time for the first timer. For my almost-3-year-old son, he enjoyed his first movie date in his own seat and never slept even for a minute but instead ate some popcorn and sipped some mango shake while watching it. After the movie, we all had blizzard at Dairy Queen, we got to enjoy my favorite chocolate chip ice cream. Ahhh, what a day to start a new week…
