As I’m blogging this, my parents and my brother with his wife and kids are in Hong Kong for a 4-day-vacation. They left yesterday morning for a much needed break especially for my mom and my sibling who are working God-knows-how. My wife, my son and I ( and my other brothers – I’ve 3 brothers) did not join them not only because we’re (that include my mom) on a tight budget these days but also for the fact that we were just in Hong Kong few months ago. We already had photos with Disneyland’s royalties. But ofcourse it would be happier if we could have join the trip with them to complete the casting.
Who doesn’t love traveling ? Probably only people who are agoraphobic, anti-social or suffering from autism or whathaveyou, may see it as a no essential part of life. But not for me. Traveling is always FUN and exciting. Regardless of where your feet will lead you, here or abroad, near or far, I always find myself enjoying every minute of it. It doesn’t only gives one a chance of seeing other places , but to literally experience the moment of being in other places away from hassles of daily life.
My ultimate dream besides having continuous blessings of health and happiness, safety of /for my family ( and ofcourse WORLD PEACE ! ) is to get a chance to travel the globe. By how, i don’t know yet. Whether it’s by chance (Okay, I know that I may not have it if I will not bet a peso in Lotto) or by gratifying myself and my family someday – YEARS from now, it will be probably the most satisfying earthly craving of a lifetime. Would’nt you want to have your photos taken at most monuments and fountains standing around the world? Especially in countries in Europe where everywhere is a photo-op.
In my 30 years of existence, I have been fortunate to travel ( for leisure, less the bragging ) in few countries abroad. From Hong Kong in 1998, to US tour in 2000 in California (Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, Fresno) to Las Vegas, to Bangkok, Thailand, Brunei Darussalam (had an overnight stay as a "stop over" to NZ but got a chance to have a half-day city tour of Bendar Seri Begawan), to 45-minute-airport-stay in Brisbane,Australia (again, as a "stop over" during flight to NZ) to a 7-week-stay in Auckland, New Zealand in April – June of 2005. And the last trip was in Hong Kong again, New Year’s day of 2007. In every travel, I keep souvenirs – simple things like boarding pass, tickets, branded tissue paper of different establishments, photos and picture frames with name of the place ofcourse, and as an influence of my wife, we collect snow globes and fridge magnets from every places we’ve been to.
Locally, I have been to Ilocos Norte and Sur ( from Pagudpud, Laoag, Paoay, Baccara, Sarat, Batac, Vigan, Candon ), La Union, Baguio, Subic, Cavite, Batangas, Laguna, Tiaong in Quezon. And in Cebu (twice for accompanying mom’s work before), Roxas City in Capiz ( recently for my own work) in the Visayas and Cagayan de Oro and Davao in the southern parts of the country.
I may not have traveled or toured that much yet compared to others who have all the money in the world to spend, or I may not have boarded a luxury cruise ship yet to one destination to another, but heck, I enjoyed all of those few travels I had to the fullest and still keep the experience intact as good as new in my memory bank.
